CB&I Awarded Contract for Gas Processing Plant in Western U.S.
CB&I has been awarded a contract by a U.S. midstream energy company to design and fabricate a 650 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) cryogenic gas processing plant in the Western United States. When operating at full capacity, the plant will have the flexibility to operate from a conditioning mode to full recovery with the ability to recover a minimum of 2,500 barrels per day (BPD) and a maximum of 30,000 BPD of mixed natural gas liquids (NGLs).
The plant is scheduled for completion in fall 2007. The contract was awarded on a cost reimbursable basis, with a value to CB&I in excess of US$100 million.
The plant will process natural gas from fields that have been among the fastest growing sources of new natural gas production in the United States.
"Increasing the domestic supply is critical as energy companies strive to meet the growing U.S. demand for natural gas," said Philip K. Asherman, CB&I's President and Chief Executive Officer. "We are pleased to continue our association with this valuable customer to help bring natural gas and NGLs to market from unconventional sources."
