Eni Brings Forward Expansion of TTPC and TAG Pipelines

ENI LogoEni's Board of Directors has approved the decision to bring forward the increase in 6.6 billion cubic meters a year of capacity of the TTPC and TAG pipelines to 1 April 2009. The increase was formerly scheduled for 1 October 2011.

The expanded capacity of the TTPC pipeline, which transports Algerian gas to Italy through Tunisia, will carry 3.2 billion cubic metres of gas per year from 1 October 2008, and 3.3 billion cubic metres per year from 1 April 2009.

The expanded capacity of the TAG pipeline, which transports Russian gas to Italy via Slovakia and Austria, will carry 3.2 billion cubic metres of gas per year from 1 October 2008, and 3.3 billion cubic metres per year from 1 April 2009.

Bringing the second phase of the expansion forward addresses the growing demand for gas in Italy and represents a further step in favour of competition.
