Vetco Aibel Awarded Hammerfest Contract

Statoil has awarded Vetco Aibel the contract for the maintenance and modifications on the Hammerfest LNG terminal on Melkøya for the processing of gas from Snøhvit. The contract has duration of five years, commencing January 1st 2006, with options for three, two-year extensions.

"We are proud that Statoil has shown confidence in our capabilities by awarding us this contract", says Erling Matland, president of Vetco Aibel. In addition to the contract itself, the award has significant strategic importance for Vetco Aibel. It further increases our competence for maintenance and modification of onshore processing plants and terminals, and it secures an operational capability in northern Norway upon which we can build to meet the market expansion anticipated for this region of Norway and Russia.

Scope of the contract includes engineering, fabrication and installation of the day-to-day maintenance support of the plant, and upcoming modifications.
