Veolia Water Systems Purchases Weir Techna

Veolia Water Systems has purchased the water and wastewater businesses of Weir Techna, a division of the Weir Group Plc. With the exception of the South African business, Weir Envig and its associated subsidiaries where transfer is still subject to Monopolies Commission ruling, the businesses of Weir Westgarth, Weir Entropie, Weir Techna Middle East, Weir Techna Australia, Weir Techna Americas and Weir Techna Brazil, now form part of Veolia Water Systems.

"This is an exciting opportunity for Techna bringing us into a family that is fully familiar with the contracting environment and has a complementary geographic and technology footprint to our own", Paul Capell commented.

The businesses will continue to pursue the same markets in which they were involved prior to the change of ownership and the management teams associated with each of the businesses are in place.
