Foster Wheeler Awarded EPS Contract in Belarus

Foster Wheeler Italiana S.p.A. has been awarded a contract for engineering services and supply of critical equipment for the JSC Mozyr Oil Refinery, Republic of Belarus.

Foster Wheeler Italiana will provide basic design for a grassroots hydrogen production unit based on Steam Methane Reforming (SMR) hydrogen production technology and it will supply the materials for the steam reformer, which will use Foster Wheeler's proprietary TERRACE-WALL™ technology.

Foster Wheeler Italiana will also provide technical assistance services during the construction, commissioning and start-up of this hydrogen unit.

This contract follows previous awards by JSC Mozyr Oil Refinery to Foster Wheeler Italiana for the supply of several fired heaters, beginning with a contract for a visbreaker heater in 1999.

"This award further strengthens Foster Wheeler's position in Eastern Europe and the C.I.S. countries."

The plant will produce 25,000 Nm3/h (normal cubic meters per hour) of high purity hydrogen. The hydrogen unit is scheduled to be in operation by 2007.
