Mott MacDonald Awarded Contract by Petroleum Development Oman

Mott MacDonald in joint venture with Special Technical Services, part of Oman Oilfields Supplies Company, has been awarded an integrated engineering and maintenance contract by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), the Sultanate's premier hydrocarbon exploration and production company. The five year agreement replaces a number of contracts currently in place to design, build and maintain PDO's production stations and is part of PDO's aim to streamline its business and simplify the number of interfaces it has with consultants and contractors.

The Mott MacDonald / Special Technical Services joint venture will provide engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, maintenance and management services for PDO's oil and gas surface facilities throughout the company's northern concession area. Integrated teams comprising PDO staff and staff from the JV will work together to deliver common business targets and develop a culture of continuous improvement and best practice.

A team of more than 250 staff from Mott MacDonald and Special Technical Services will be required to manage, administer and support the execution of the service in areas such as project management, detailed design, site construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover plus safety and quality management, cost engineering, and planning.
