Weir Techna Awarded Desalination Plant Contract in Yemen
Weir Techna, represented by Weir Entropie and Weir Techna Middle East, has been selected by Public Electricity Corporation (PEC), the state owned Power utility company of Yemen, for the turnkey supply of three desalination units, 1200 m3/day each,. The contract value exceeds Euro 4 million. The Letter of Credit is expected to be opened in June.
Weir Entropie will supply the desalination equipment and Weir Techna Middle East will be in charge of the auxiliary equipment and site works including erection and civils. Water shall be used by PEC for process and potable needs in their Al Hiswa power plant near Aden. The time for completion of the turn key plant is 20 months.
This contract, the first in Yemen for Techna, is the result of synergetic collaboration between Entropie and Techna Middle East within the Techna division.
