Jacobs Extends Partnership Agreement with Borealis to Finland
A Jacobs Engineering Group subsidiary has received a contract amendment from Borealis to extend their engineering partnership to include projects at Borealis Finland in Porvoo.
Under the partnership expansion, Jacobs is providing consulting, engineering, procurement, and construction services at Borealis Finland for projects with a total installed cost up to $1.9 million. Jacobs opened a new office near the site to coordinate contract activities with the company's network of offices throughout Europe, which provides support as needed.
At the site, Jacobs personnel are performing services in cooperation with staff from Neste Jacobs Oy. Jacobs has a 34 percent ownership position in Neste Jacobs, the largest engineering contractor in Finland serving the oil refining, petrochemicals, and chemicals markets.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Andy Kremer stated, "The expansion of our partnership with Borealis into Finland reflects their strategy of improving capital effectiveness and our model of growth through expanding long-term client relations. We are very pleased to continue increasing our work share in the Nordic countries."
Borealis is a leading, innovative provider of plastics solutions based on polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). Its technology shapes daily life products and forms the basis of next generation innovation and creative development in plastics.
