Technip Awarded Gulf LNG Energy FEED Contract

Technip LogoTechnip has been awarded a design-phase contract for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal by Gulf LNG Energy LLC. The contract covers the front end engineering (FEED) of the terminal, which is planned to be located in Pascagoula, Mississippi, USA.

The project includes a new marine dock capable of handling 250,000 m3 LNG tankers, the unloading system, 2 full containment storage tanks each with 160,000 m3 capacity and the sendout system capable of a daily rate of 1.5 billion cubic feet.

The project will be subject to the complex permitting process in force in the United States. Pending the results of this process, Gulf LNG Energy hopes to begin construction in 2006 with the commissioning of the terminal slated for mid-2009. The project represents an overall total investment estimated at more than USD 450 million.
