Weir Entropie Awarded Seawater Desalination Contract in Algeria

Weir Entropie, part of the Techna Division of The Weir Group PLC, has been selected by ENIP, a subsidiary of Sonatrach-Algeria, for the supply and erection of a desalination plant worth Euro 8.3 million. ENIP is a plastic complex based in Skikda, an industrial coastal city near the Tunisian border.

The plant will produce 8 000 m³/day of pure water for process application. The project involves the supply of one Multiple Effect Distillations unit, all the interconnecting piping with the existing facilities, the erection of the plant and the civil works design. FOB delivery is due in 14 months and completion of the plant in 21 months.

Weir Entropie is responsible for the execution of the overall scope and will sublet the erection work to a local Algerian company.
