Weir Techna Win Qarn Alam Contract
The contract, valued at just over £1million, is for the supply of three 500m3/day containerised brackish water reverse osmosis plants, with an optional supply of 60m3/day demineralisation plant which is to be ordered by early March. The plants are due for delivery and commissioning completed by early September 2005, the plants will be assembled in the United Arab Emirates and shipped to Oman. All engineering and fabrication activities will be executed directly from the Weir Techna Middle East Office. This is an important strategic win for the Weir Techna Middle East operation as it continues to develop in the Middle East market and highlights the commitment made by the Middle East team through 2004. Weir Techna Middle East (FZCo), part of the Techna Division of The Weir Group PLC, have signed a contract with Al Hassan Engineering Company in Oman, the main EPC contractor for the PDO development of the Qarn Alam facility in Oman.
