Jacobs Receives BP Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Contract

Jacobs LogoJacobs Engineering Group is providing front-end engineering, design, and procurement services for BP Cherry Point Refinery's Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) project in Blaine, Washington. The project, which is an extension of BP's ongoing program to introduce clean fuels that substantially reduce emissions, involved evaluating both revamp and grassroots options to determine the best solution for complying with the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) new low sulfur diesel regulations.

BP plans to invest over $75 million on new ULSD facilities at their Cherry Point Refinery with mechanical completion projected for mid-2006.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Peter Evans stated, "We are excited about this second consecutive major capital project award by BP Cherry Point and the opportunity to further expand our relationship with this refinery. Our team plans to build on the successes of the recently completed clean gasoline project."
