CB&I to Engineer and Construct Hydrogen Plant for Air Liquide
CB&I is executing the project on a lump-sum turnkey basis, including engineering, procurement and field erection. The plant will utilize a combustion air preheat design and the Company's proprietary HYFORMING(TM) steam methane box reformer technology, which provides superior process performance and proven reliability within a robust mechanical design. Engineering has already begun on this second quarter booking, and mechanical completion is scheduled for summer 2006. Through an alliance with Air Liquide America, which was formed to design and build all hydrogen and synthesis gas plants supplied by Air Liquide in the Americas, the Company has executed more than 10 hydrogen plants in recent years. CB&I has been awarded a contract by Air Liquide America L.P. to provide a 100 million standard cubic feet per day hydrogen production facility at Air Liquide's Bayport Complex in Bayport, Texas. The plant will supply hydrogen to a number of industrial users.
