AK Pharmaceuticals Opens Engineering Centre in Ireland
AK Pharmaceuticals has chosen Cork in Ireland as the location for its new Engineering Centre of Excellence. The Centre, at the Cork Airport Business Park, was launched by Irish Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Micheal Martin, T.D. The move is predicted to create up to 220 new jobs over the next three years. The Irish Development Agency (IDA) is supporting the international dimension of this project, which involves 85 high calibre jobs.
AK pharmaceuticals provides a full range of engineering, construction, validation and maintenance services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The role of the new Centre will be to support its services to the pharmaceutical sector across Europe. A number of key functions will be located at the Cork office, including data storage and processing, software development and training facilities, with the aim of establishing this office as a principal centre of excellence for Europe.
