CB&I Awarded Clean Fuels Contract
CB&I has been awarded a project by Frontier El Dorado Refining Company to design and build a 24,000 barrels per day ultra-low sulfur diesel hydrotreater and 35,000,000 standard cubic feet per day hydrogen generation plant at Frontier's refinery in El Dorado, Kansas. The hydrogen plant and hydrotreater will enable Frontier to meet ultra-low sulfur diesel levels as part of the refinery's clean fuels program. The project is valued in excess of US$75m.
The project will be executed on a lump-sum, turnkey EPC basis. CB&I will apply its extensive experience in engineering, fabrication and innovative construction execution approaches to achieve Frontier's cost and schedule goals. The hydrogen unit will employ CB&I's proprietary HYFORMING(TM) technology and the hydrotreater will use a combination of Haldor Topsoe A/S technology and CB&I process design.
Mechanical completion is scheduled for spring 2006.
