LGE Awarded Additional Contracts by Hyundai
Weir LGE Process, part of the Techna Division of the Weir Group, has been awarded a further four contracts by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd (South Korea). The contracts are for the design, supply of process equipment, supervision of installation and commissioning and start-up of the cargo handling plants for four LPG carriers which will be constructed at HHI's shipyard at Ulsan, South Korea.
These additional four contracts are for the supply of the cargo handling plant for four Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs) of 82,000 m3 and are amongst the largest under construction in the world. This latest batch of contracts increases further the total number of contracts awarded by HHI to WLGE to 48 and underlines the outstanding record achieved by HHI and Weir LGE Process.
The addition of these contracts brings Edinburgh based LGE's total number of gas carrier projects in progress to 14, not forgetting our ethylene terminal project in China
