Drilling Contractor, KCA Deutag, wins contracts worth £33.33million

KCA Deutag has won new contracts worth £33.33million in the North Sea, Oman, Nigeria, Libya and Pakistan for offshore and land drilling.

The three year North Sea contract was awarded by Venture Production for its 50/50 Kittiwake joint venture with Dana Petroleum, with two one year extensions. This contract is worth £3.75million over five years, with little of the work being carried out this year.

KCA Deutag report this work will have little impact for the 260 workers in the North Sea Shell platforms who were recently served with redundancy notices. However, KCA Deutag are recruiting for other offshore projects in west Africa and the Caspian region and some workers may transfer to these areas.
