Round 3 of UK Offshore Wind Farm Development Programme
SSE is a member of two consortia which have been awarded development partner status by The Crown Estate in Round 3 of its UK offshore wind farm development programme. Forewind, formed by SSE, RWE npower renewables, Statoil and Statkraft, awarded development partner status for the 9GW (gigawatts) offshore wind farm proposed for Dogger Bank, 125km from the coast of Yorkshire.

Centrica Awarded Round Three Offshore Wind Development Zone
Centrica welcome news that it has been successful in The Crown Estate's Round Three offshore wind tendering process, having been awarded exclusive rights to develop the Irish Sea zone. The zone, which is located 15 kilometres off the coast of Anglesey, Wales, and 2,200km2, provides Centrica the potential to develop up to an additional 4.2 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy.
